Inground Pool Ladders

There’s a lot more to inground pool ladders than you might expect. Not only are inground pool ladders just a way into and out of the deep end, they can be chosen to integrate into the particular style of the pool. Many brands offer powder coating on their inground pool ladders in several attractive colors, too. Standards ladders, hinged ladders (for use with automatic covers), comercial ladders, and camelback pool ladders are some of the main style choices in inground pool ladders.

Inground Pool Ladders

For a typical residential inground pool, a standard residental ladder will generally be made of 304 grade stainless steel with tubes making up the handrails having a 1.7 inch outside diameter. Residential pool ladders come with stainless steel step treads that have non-skid inserts, and rubber bumpers. Such ladders cost around $150.00

You can also get residential swimming pool ladders with white plastic treads. Often, these will have the bends in the handles with 6-inch radius. This keeps the ladder closer to the wall of the pool. Expect to pay around $190 for this style of ladder.

Slightly larger residential ladders come with stainless steel tubing with 1.9 inch outer diameter and mirror finish. With 6-inch bend radius, these sturdy ladders hug the wall of the pool so as not to take up valuable swimming space. These cost about $300.

Camelback ladders have handles that curve out and back in at the top rung. They can be found with durable plastic or stainless steel treads. You can also get an assortment of powder coated colors and rubber bumpers on the ends to protect vinyl pool liners at the point where the bottom of the ladder meets the side of the pool. Camelback ladders cost around $380.

Dade County / Florida rollout ladders fit closer to the side of the pool because they have tighter radius bends. You can get them with or without a crossbrace for extra strength, and with durable plastic or stainless steel treads. They, too have rubber bumpers on the bottom ends of the ladder to protect vinyl liners.
