When October draws near, the ultimate fear surrounds each and every one of us. How to be really unique in our Halloween get up? You don’t want to be the same as the guy next door, do you? Wearing the same ol’ Superman outfit is boring, not to mention out of fashion. In choosing (or making, as the best Halloween costumes are definitely made at home, with local material) the right Halloween costume, some degree of style, originality and innovation are essential. The key is to think out of the box. Depending on your own personal style, you can be dark and mysterious, eliciting awe from the onlookers. Or you can be light and humorous, drawing out a smile or even hilarity. In any case, there is a need to stun the onlookers, or you would go unnoticed””a wasted effort. Let’s look at what’s going on around the World Wide Web this year, when it comes to celebrating Halloween.
1. The Hooded Hangman
Now, this is a costume you won’t come across a lot. It’s rather simple to make and accessories are not hard to find. All you need is a black piece of cloth with holes for the eyes and mouth; clothes that look 17th Century style and an axe. I wouldn’t get on the bad side of this one. This costume looks best on people who are quite corpulent. It makes the total effect somewhat more menacing!
2. Batman Themed Costumes
This year, you will find many people with the “Dark Knight” costume, most of which would have been purchased from the usual stores. You can be a little different. Try the Heath Ledger Joker or even Two-Face. An ingeniously conceived costume is likely to elicit positive reaction. One really cute outfit was completely homemade and included the Bat Motorcycle. This was made of carton with wheels that resembled the real thing eerily. With flashlights at the front and in the rear, it would look great on Halloween night!
3. Michael Jackson
This year, Michael Jackson costumes will also be prevalent, because of the recent death of the Pop Star. But why not be a little different? Try dressing as the doctor who “killed” Michael! If not, then try out any of the different Michael Jackson looks. Be sure to have the silver or white sequined glove (a Michael isn’t Michael without one!). Another famous look is the Red leather jacket that Michael wore when shooting Beat it and Thriller Videos. Wear it with a lot of functionless zippers and matching pants and boots. The Thriller look is certainly perfect for Halloween. The torn-up zombie style leather jacket and the yellow reptile eyes (although this might be difficult to reproduce) are really spooky.
4. Tornado and Mr. TV Weatherman
This is a unique idea for couples. Dress up as the deadly tornado that ravages a lot of southern and Midwestern America and your partner can dress as the Weatherperson chasing it. Tornado outfits can be homemade with various accessories. Black clothes on which you would stick various items that the Tornado would pick up (cows, trees, even tiny houses) would be enough. The Weatherperson needs to be smartly dressed with a mike in hand. To be funnier, provide for dishevelled hair.
