Inflatable Pools
Inflatable pools have come a long way since the days of baby pools that might last an entire summer if you were lucky. Inflatable pools now are made of heavier gauge material, and are made in numerous shapes and sizes. Some are made for use by adults as well as children, and some make it possible for families to have a backyard pool when otherwise they might not be able to.
Starting with baby pools, these are usually around 25 square feet in area – 5 x 5 squares or six feet in diameter. There are now baby pools that come with canopies to help protect babies from sunburn.

For toddlers and preschoolers, inflatable pools are larger, and often come with extras like sprinklers. For those without access to adequate shade, many models come with detachable canopies. This is a great age to get children into fun in the water. If they’re used to their own "me-sized" pool, they will have an easier time making the transition to mommy-and-me swim lessons or regular swim lessons. Inflatable pools are great for those days when there doesn’t seem like anything to do and you’re tired of watching DVDs. And the active play is something that too few children get enough of these days.

But inflatable pools aren’t just for children any more. Inflatable pools large enough for families can be had for under $100. Some are very basic, and some have built-in extras like back rests and drink holders. There are even 1 to 2 adult-sized personal inflatable pools perfect for those with limited space to have a chance to cool off.
Our recommended Adult inflatable pools:
The largest inflatable family sized pools cost up to $1,000 and include a filter pump, ground tarp, ladder, pool cover, and pool maintenance kit. Many of these come with side supports as well.
The market for inflatable pools is growing, and will continue to grow along with the new inflatable pool technology that will allow more people than ever to have their own pool.
