Swimming Pool Slides

Nothing ramps up the fun level of the average backyard pool like a slide. Not only are they fun, but they’re great exercise. You’d be hard pressed to find anything that will wear kids out and make them sleep well at night like endless climbs up the slide before whooshing into the water. It’s no accident that the big slides at water parks have the longest lines.

Swimming pool slides are available in a number of heights and designs. The right height will depend on the age of those using it and the speed you want. Typically, swimming pool slides have a slight curve to them, though there are slides for in-ground pools that have more twists and turns. Swimming pool slides run the gamut pricewise, too. But the price is put in its proper perspective once you think of the money you’d spend taking everyone to the water park several times in a summer.

You can now buy inflatable pool slides that rest entirely in the water. Some of them have ballasts you fill before securing with tie-down connections. These are usually small and shallow, but for younger children, they may be just the thing.

At the other end of the spectrum, you can purchase spiral slides that give water park slides a run for their money. Teens love these.

Between the two extremes, are the good old-fashioned slides that everyone can enjoy. While they may not provide the thrills of a spiral or corkscrew slide, they are nonetheless a welcome addition to any backyard pool when installed properly.
