Generations of children along with their parents have enjoyed Sesame Street. It is an American children television program that was introduced in 1969 and is the longest running children’s program on television in the United States. Sesame Street features the Muppet characters created by Jim Henson. They are lovable puppets who not only entertain but teach children the concepts of numbers, alphabets, words, basic arithmetic, simple problem solving and socialization. The show and its characters have become trusted friends to children; the show has even dealt with tough subjects such as death and divorce.
1. Gund Sesame Street Snuffleupagus
Bring home Sesame’s Street lovable Snuffleupagus and watch a child fall in love. Sesame Street created this character in 1971 as a friend to Big Bird. The Muppet resembles a wooly mammoth with a long nose that drags on the ground and thick brown hair. In 1985 Sesame Street introduced him as a “real” character that interacted with the entire cast. His soft fur is warm against a child’s cheek as he or she hugs him.
