A favorite of Saturday morning cartoons in the United States is Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! It was introduced in 1969 and several reincarnations have kept Scooby and the gang on the airwaves ever since. Scooby is a talking Great Dane who along with Freddie, Daphne, Velma and shaggy, solve mysteries. The mysteries usually involved the gang coming into contact with ghosts and monsters. Scooby was usually quite afraid of these creatures and would run away. Hence the part of the series name, Where are You? references Scooby’s fear of the supernatural. Scooby is very distinctive looking; so much so his resemblance to a Great Dan is somewhat far-reaching. Scooby has bowed legs, a double chin and a sloped back.

The teens offer to help and the group splits into two groups: Fred, Daphne and Velma in one group and Shaggy and Scooby in the second group. Shaggy and Scooby seem more interested in finding food, but always run into the monster that chases them. Daphne is captured by the monster. The rest of the gang continues to find and analyze clues and capture the “monster” who is actually a person. Shaggy tries again to eat, but Scooby steals his food. Ty created an endearing 8″ replica of America’s beloved pooch. He is part stuffed animal, part beanie baby with the authentic heart-shaped tag that identifies the item as a Ty product.
