Poker Chips and Accessories

Playing poker online or in a video game can be fun, but not as much fun as matching wits with live opponents you can see and interact with directly. The solution may be to have your own home poker game.

Preparing for your Own Poker Game

The problem is that many people may not be equipped for setting up their own home poker game. Thankfully, there are lots of places to buy a full-fledged poker kit nowadays. Do a quick search online and you’ll come up with lots of cheap supplies for setting up a great home poker game.

One of the things you will need is a chip set. It doesn’t have to be the highest quality composite poker chip set, but ceramic, weighted sets feel better to play with and non-branded ones are quite inexpensive.

Another nice addition is a Texas hold’em folding tabletop that can transform any table in your home into a Texas hold’em ready poker table. With your chip set should be a dealer button, and if you want that little extra live casino feel to it you can also use card protectors and chip storage units.

And of course, no poker game would be complete without cards. The most durable cards are made of plastic, and it’s preferable if they are extra large for the best visibility. Also keep at least one or two backup decks at hand in case something happens to the first one in the heat of the game.

New to poker? In that case you should definitely read some books by David Sklansky, Doyle Brunson’s Super/System and T.J Cloutier. These books are all great resources to sharpen your game and help get the chips moving your way. Study up, take down your home game and get some great poker stuff to amaze and impress your friends.
