The Nerf Longshot is perfect for a backyard Nerf war. The Longshot is accurate, fast, and best of all… easy to load. It comes with 12 darts that easily fit into quick reloadable clips.
The NERF Longshot is also equipped with a pinpoint targeting scope which helps children zero in on their targets and improve their accuracy. The foam covered rubber darts are painless when they hit their young targets, making for endless hours of fun.
The fact that the blaster has a range of up to 35 feet is amazing for a small child. The glee that comes to little faces when seeing their bright orange and yellow darts fly that far into the air or across the yard is absolutely delightful.
The NERF Longshot is affordable and easy for parents or older children to assemble. It is recommended for use by children six years and older. Many teens and adults have just as much fun with the Nerf Longshot as elementary school children, making it a perfect companion at a family picnic, or in the park. In fact, a Nerf war with several Nerf Longsot CS-6 guns on hand would be perfect for the next family reunion.
Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6
This toy gun is amazing! Don’t listen to people who complain that it only shoots ten feet, or that the scope doesn’t work. The secret lies in where you put the hole on the bottom. Here is everything you need to know to have endless hours of fun.
Accuracy:
When putting darts into the clip, load them with the hole on the bottom. If you are holding the gun straight when you fire the gun, the dart will fly straight as can be. If you want to hit a target from far away, be sure to keep just one dart in one of the clips, and make sure that the hole is on the bottom. If you put 6 darts into the clip, it is harder to be certain that they all have the hole pointed toward the bottom. So, it’s a good idea to carry one clip with all 6 darts, and one with only one dart.
The other key point to remember about accuracy is practice, practice, practice. Practicing long distance shots holding the gun different ways and looking through the sight different ways helps improve accuracy. By trying different shooting methods, you will eventually find the style that best suits your specific style.
Distance:
Even a toy gun that cannot hit targets from a distance is no good. The Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6 can safely shoot up to 35 feet or more, and can be modified to shoot farther. However, modifying your gun to shoot up to100 feet or so is risky business.
Improving distance also takes skill. First use your scope to find your target. Then tilt the gun up very slowly. At a distance of 50 feet, target probably may not be visible in the scope, but you know it’s there. Once you have aimed high above your target, fire away. Believe it or not, it works! Every time I did this I aimed a little higher than the previous time and eventually got my darts to soar 50 feet. I shot from the middle of my room, across the hallway, and even as far as the room at the end of the hallway. Each time, I measured the distance and the longest distance… to the room at the end of the hallway… was 50 feet. In my opinion, that’s far enough away to snipe someone, especially if you are hiding behind something or in a dark room. No doubt, if you are shooting from a roof, or out a window, you could probably shoot even farther.
The Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6 gets five stars for being the most entertaining toy in the house; three stars for being an excellent teaching aide on the basics of Nerf modding; four stars for durability; and five stars overall. I must honestly admit that this is by far the most entertaining toy I can think of, excluding video games and airsoft.
