The long awaited new Lego model from Clone Wars has never been done before. The kit includes Mace Windu, Clone Pilot, and Clone Trooper minifigures. These are rare minifigures, and had Lego enthusiasts waiting impatiently for this kit. The awesome shuttle has collapsible wings, and semi-automatic flick firing missiles. At 9 ½ inches long with an 18 inch wingspan, the shuttle along with all the accessories contains 636 pieces and retails for between $50 and $60.
Once it’s through firing on the Separatist droid army, it simply folds its wings to go into landing mode, then drops off Mace Windu and the clone troopers to finish up the job. The kit includes a clone pilot and a plain white clone.
Lego enthusiasts who have reviewed this kit love in particular the clones, Mace Windu, the chrome light saber, the accuracy of the details, and the lack of stickers. The main complaint is consistent: not enough clones! But the shuttle’s automatic flick firing missiles are a big hit, as is the bomb dropping function. The cockpit has room for two minifigures, and the troop compartment has room for one, with light saber and blaster storage in the back of the shuttle.
Other favorite features include the semi automatic missile launcher. It is a well designed piece of equipment, and some say it’s one of the best Lego weapons ever made. The bombs can be dropped one by one from the two bomber bays, and the double opening cockpit is quite a hit as well.
Reviews of the LEGO Star Wars Republic Attack Shuttle are almost uniformly glowing. At 636 pieces, it is a big kit, and the price is mid-range. Any collector of Lego or Star Wars toys is going to want one of these, and for those just starting out, it makes a great starter kit for the whole Star Wars collection.
