If you see one of these you might want to buy it. It appears to be limited in some fashion the Lego Star Wars 10186 General Grievous is quite a nice little figure. It has pose-able everything and don’t forget this one has four arms. It also comes with a nice rotating base so you can spin your General Grievous around to your friend, exposing the, um, guts of the creature behind the split apart chest.
Another fine and dandy feature of this set is that you get four translucent light sabers in various colors, one for each arm of your fearful looking creature.
If you only see a picture of the Lego Star Wars 10186 General Grievous then you may not realize that it is 18 inches tall. It may possibly be a bit challenging to build, as it comes in almost 1100 pieces. Yet that fact alone is surely one of its most attractive features.
The combination of things you could make with 1100 pieces is staggering. And the large translucent plastic pieces which are used to make to the light sabers are some rare specimens. They might make a groovy backyard fence for your vacation home on mars. Not exactly sure the hardware exists, but one can still dream right?
But seriously, this makes a nice display item, as it is truly a sight to be seen. Almost like a spider but with light saber arms. It looks especially sharp on some nice creamy white unpolished marble (or vinyl). Adding a diffuser to your tiny halogen spot is recommended especially for photographs, which would not benefit from the glare of a flash. The color or polished state of the surface you place it on isn’t really crucial, so don’t go too far out of your way for those features, but at least make sure it isn’t black, because that would match the Lego base and you might lose some of the modeling on the base when viewed in non-optimal lighting conditions.
