1. Indian Girl with feather headband
My daughter wore this costume for a living history program at her school. Her Pocohontas costume was perfect. Not only were we very pleased with the quick delivery, we were also pleased with the quality of the costume. It is very durable and was so well made that I plan to let her wear it again for Halloween before she outgrows it.

2. Indian Boy with feather headband
I hesitated to spend this much on a costume for a growing child. After all, my son is only nine years old, and won’t be able to wear it more than a few times. I am happy to report that after receiving it, I was very satisified with my purchase. The quality and workmanship make this costume well worth the money I spent on it. The material is butter soft and the entire costume is sewn very neatly, right down to the fringe. No doubt, this costume is very well made and definitely worth the money.

Native American Girls Costumes for Halloween
For little girls, the Native American princess costume for girls is most certainly among the most popular costumes. The primary element of this ensemble is a short sleeved shirt that came to the knee or calf. It is normally beige or tan in color, however, white or pink are popular alternatives. Both the hem and the neckline are normally trimmed with contrasting fringe usually made from rawhide strips or fabric that has been cut or torn into strips to form the fringe at the neck and hem of the garment.
The Indian Princess costume is accessorized with beaded jewellery adorning the neck and arms and feather headdresses. Colorful beads are also sometimes sewn onto the front of the costume, which may also be worn with or without matching pants. The princess costume may also be accessorized with an embroidered satchel or purse. Toy tomahawks with feather tassels can also be used as accessories. Moccasins, sandals or soft suede ankle boots adorned with fringe are the customary footwear to make the Native American Princess Costume complete.
Native American Boys Costumes for Halloween
Earth tone buckskin shirts are popular for boys and men alike. This authentic looking attire may be long or short-sleeved and are usually thigh-length. Matching buckskin trousers with simple hems are the finishing touches to make the costume complete. Accessories include a matching leather-look bandana with a single feather for a brave or a full feather bonnet for a chief. The more feathers in a headpiece, the higher the post the wearer holds within the tribe.
Tomahawks, used by Native American men are generally more functional than those used by women, therefore, the tomahawk of a boy’s costume is less frilly than one that would accessorize a girls costume. While her tomahawk might be adorned with feathers, his will usually be adorned by just a rawhide strap. He might also have a bow and arrow or a toy knife to enhance his costume. On his feet are moccasins or soft leather boots, which round out the ensemble to natural perfection.
Indian Costumes for Halloween
Costumes from the Indian sub-continent are growing in popularity with Halloween party-goers. These costumes can be made at home with absolutely no sewing skill. Saris require only an ample amount of Asian-style printed fabric worn over a slip or leotard by wrapping the fabric around the waist several times and leaving enough at the end to drape over the shoulder. A simple solid colored short-sleeved or sleeveless blouse goes under the sari. The trick is to purchase an authentic floral or Indian artwork fabric for the sari. Purchasing fabric that is more reminiscent of the South Pacific or Southeast Asian style batik or sarong fabric is not an acceptable substitute and will look out of place.
Girls can also authentic Indian shalwar kameez suits with matching dupattas or long scarves as well. These loose fitting block-printed or embroidered shirts with matching baggy trousers are very comfortable and make quite attractive, authentic Halloween costumes. Boys also wear shalwar kameez , but theirs almost always come in solid colors only, with no print or pattern in the fabric, though the fronts may be embroidered in the same color as the fabric. Shalwar outfits are best bought in specialty Indian stores, which are found in major metropolitan areas such as New York and Washington, DC, in the US or Toronto, or Vancouver, in Canada.
