The Fisher Price Little People Animal Sounds Farm is one of the classic “Little People” toys from Fisher Price, updated with safer Little People than those of decades past. It is perennially a favorite go-to toy for kids ages 1 to 5, found in homes, church nurseries, preschools, and day care facilities everywhere.
The barn has a first floor where the animals live, and a top floor where the farmer lives. The Fisher Price Little People Animal Sounds Farm includes a sheep, chicken, pig, cow, and horse. Opening the gates to the horse and cow stalls causes it to make horse or cow noises. To get pig or sheep noises, place each animal in its preferred living area ““ a mud puddle for the pig, and grass for the sheep. Setting the chicken on top of her nest produces chicken sounds. The nest even flips to show either baby chicks or eggs.
The set also comes with a farmer, a windmill, weathervane, and scarecrow. The windmill, weathervane, and scarecrow can be moved around to install in different places on the farm. A horse cart holding a bale of hay attaches to the horse, and there are movable fence sections. A platform near the barn door plays “The Farmer in the Dell” when pressed. Decals and stickers are included for decorating purposes, and the entire setup folds for easy storage and portability.
The Little People characters and toys have been around for 50 years, and are just as beloved today as they were when they first came on the market. The Little People and other small toys are made to meet higher safety standards now, but all the classic Little People setups can still be found in new incarnations.
