Fisher Price Musical Tea Set

Fisher-Price-Musical-Tea-Set A tea set is a staple of every toy chest, day care, and church nursery, it seems. There is something innately appealing to small children about preparing and serving “tea” to teddy bears, dolls, and the occasional parent. The tiny table and chairs, with each chair occupied by a favorite toy (dressed in the requisite fancy hat, of course) is a tableau that is the setting for much storytelling and practicing of good manners, like “please” and “thank you.” Well, Fisher Price has made a Musical Tea Set that is designed especially for little hands.

The Fisher Price Musical Tea Set comes with a tray, teapot, four cups, four saucers, a creamer, sugar bowl, and four spoons. All of the items fit onto the tray for easy serving. The recommended ages for the Fisher Price Musical Tea Set are ages 2-5.

The teapot is the “musical” part of this tea set. When you press the lid, it plays the tune to “I’m a Little Teapot,” and when you “pour” the tea, it makes what Fisher Price describes as “magic pouring sounds.” Parents describe it as a chiming sound.

Most parents raved about this tea set as being sturdy ““ as Fisher Price toys have a reputation for. One reviewer commented that you may want to lay the box flat if it is being given as a wrapped gift because turning it over will set off the chiming sounds of the teapot. Then again, a small child might love the idea of un-wrapping a gift that is already making noise.

One complaint parents had was that the versions of the Fisher Price Musical Tea Set made after 2007 have two holes in the tops of every cup, to meet European safety regulations. These holes mean that kids can’t really use them with tea or water, because of spillage.
