This is what happens when people do random searches on subjects and present the list as authoritative.

I would like to see some sources on these because I’ve never heard of DMSO (dimethyl sulfate, listed above) as being poisonous. In fact it is some times used to transmit drugs in to the system by absorption through the skin. It does NOT make your eyes water, your lips swell, or any of those symptoms. I have had it put on my skin to see what it does. It is very odd actually. It is absorbed very quickly in to your skin and then in to your veins and you can taste it. It has a garlicy taste.

Irukanji is the jellyfish found throughout the Pacific’s warmer waters, but mostly in Australia. It is nearly invisible and quite lethal.

Interesting… that picture for belladonna is black nightshade, which is a different plant.
and strychnine kills by constantly convulsing the entire body’s muscles, making it impossible to breathe.

Okay fist off, Codeine the only reason codeine is bad is when it;s in large doses but that can be said for anything. And Codeine is supposed to knock you out. It’s a pain medication that also makes you drowsy. And as for PCP and Nicotine, they really shouldn’t be on here. There are more deadly things out there. You want one of the 33 most deadly substances? Chlorine gas. It liquifies your lungs in a heartbeat. All the other stuff might be treatable but chlorine poisoning is not.

the blue ringed octopus (#20) isnt really valid as it’s active toxin is tetraodontoxin (same as pufferfish)

Anon, if you really think DMSO is dimethyl sulfate you are failing really, really hard

As several have mentioned the box jellyfish found throughout the warmer oceans but most common in Austrailia is far more lethal than the blue ring octopus as well as several other things listed. Also there are the venoms of several spiders such as the black widow, brown recluse, funnel web and the wandering spider of south america. Death from these isn’t that common but per volume they are more toxic.

  17. yep, box jellyfish is most lethal animal and toxins for blue ring and puffer are same
good story, but the author should not have titled as was,
and yes CO kills everything as does H2O2 as far as bacteria,
many lethal natural substances but most natural I would still say is nicotine, it was downplayed
    used as pesticide worldwide
