Check out the following Baby Play mats so you can find the one that is right for you.
1. The Bright Starts Baby’s Play Place
The Bright Starts Playmat was a great purchase for our new family. The baby loves to play with the toys that hang over the mat, and I think it’s his favourite place to sleep. The mat was a great price as well, with seven cute little toys including a mirror and some plushies. The fact that it can be machine washed is also a MASSIVE plus in my books. Because, let’s face it, babies aren’t exactly the cleanest of creatures. Being able to change the toys that are on the mat is a great feature, and it lets us customise the mat to his likes or interests. i.e. Bob the Builder is a favourite. If I were to go back in time, and help decide on a Playmat to pick, I would most definitely put my vote towards the Bright Starts Baby Playmat. It’s a good buy!
2. Fisher Price Rainforest Melodies & Lights Deluxe
This playmat is perfect for the baby, it has a nice comfortable quilt for the floor that has heaps of colours and interesting shapes to keep the little one interested. There is over twenty minutes of parent initiated music that can captivate his or her attention. This playmate encourages the use of and development of senses such as sight, hearing and touch with many interesting things to stimulate each. A downside to the product would have to be that it does not travel as easy as some of the other similar products, but as a stay at home play area it rocks. My little fellah, in particular, really enjoys the cute giraffe, I quite like it myself. All the hanging toys are really soft, which is great and reduces the risk of him hurting himself. The playmat is so bright and vibrant, it almost always puts him in a great mood.
3. Baby Einstein Animal Exploration Tunnel
Do you want your baby to be the next Einstein? Well, give them the extra start! I have to say, however, that my little one took a little while to get comfortable enough to actually stay in the tunnel of the playmat. Once he did get comfortable with it, however, you couldn’t get him out. The Baby Einstein Animal Exploration Tunnel has loads of animal plushies for the little guy to explore and learn the name of them. He’ll be identifying them all easily in no time. I think that the meshing on the side of the tunnel was a must, so I can keep an eye on him as well as play with him from outside. It really is a great toy, however it takes a while to dismantle and then set up which does not make it the ideal toy to travel with. The playmat has a very soft floor for comfort, and has a bright and cheerful feeling to it aided by the meshing on the side to let in light. So, even though it’s time consuming to dismantle, it doesn’t particularly bother me as the baby is in it at least once a day so I just leave it there.
4. Sun Smart Baby Playmat
This Sun Smart Baby Playmat really is a great idea for the sun consciences parents of a little one. It’s UV resistant which is great to protect the baby from harmful rays. Unfortunately the product can be a little dodgy, the mesh started coming away from the fabric a bit. But nothing too bad. Oh, and the mesh doesn’t give much protection to the wind at all. Which is fine if it’s just a breeze on a hot day, but it’s not so great at the beach. You can’t expect much better for the price though. If you want better you have to pay for better, obviously. Oh, it would be nice for it to be easier to assemble than it does currently. Being as hard as it is makes it hard to travel with it. Especially if it’s windy when trying to put it together.
