There’s nothing like being trapped in a house on a snow day to make both parents and children go stir crazy. We’ve put together another list of toys to help you battle the winter blahs: outside toys to maximize fun and indoor toys with a snow theme. Don’t worry - summer will be back in no time!

Blizzard in a Bucket — by Be Amazing
Do you live in a “no-snow” area but long for a wintry wonderland? Thanks to the Amazing Blizzard in a Bucket you can have the next best thing - Insta-Snow! Insta-Snow can absorb up to 100 times it’s weight in water and stays cold no matter what the outside temperature is. You can even squish it through your fingers without being left with soggy mess! It’s almost as good as the real thing.
Snoopy Sno Cone Machine - Classic
– by Sababa Toys
This toy hasn’t changed muchfrom the classic. The Snoopy on top of the house is used to push the ice cubes down into the “shaver” and keeps little hands safe. Children then use the snow shovel to gather up the ice shavings into a cup before they pour on the flavor syrup. Be repared to help with the cranking though - small arms usually don’t last long. It’s a great alternative to letting your children find out the truth about “yellow snow.”
Polar Express Train Set - G-Gauge
– by Lionel
An award winning book and movie were the inspirations for this snow themed train. Built by Lionel, the grandfather of all toy trains, the Polar Express is of exceptional quality. Comes with an oval track, puffing smoke, operating headlight and coupler, and 4 action figures. Perfect for under the christmas tree!
Ultimate Snow Fort
– by Avivia
Don’t have enough time to build a fort from scratch? This 7ft x 6ft inflatable igloo is perfect for the last minute snow war. Includes snowball deflectors, windows to throw snowballs out of and easy entry exit (in case you need to make a run for some hot cocoa!) Also a great place to introduce little ones to the enjoyment of playing in the snow one flake at a time.
Snow Man Kit — by Family Direct, Inc.
This kit includes everything your child needs to recreate the classic snowman. One of the best features: the hat has “snow-anchors” so it doesn’t blow away. Includes a genuine corncob pipe and coal as well.
Snowmobile
– by Lego
Another great product from Lego, this Snowmobile is part of their Technic line. It’s geared towards builders who are beyond the brick-by-brick approach. This kit also contains instructions on how to build a bulldozer - over 300 pieces in all. Your budding engineer will be so focused on building his snowmobile he won’t be paying attention to anything else!
Mega Rig Arctic Adventure Snow Monster Mission
– by Mattel
This versatile arctic monster themed toy can be combined in several different ways. Use all of the pieces seperately or combine them to build a tractor/train/snowplow/helicopter mega rig. Send your young adventurer out to brave the elements to defeat the accompanying abomanable snow monster. It’s like building your own adventure!
Sno-Paint Sno-Art Kit
– by Cadaco
With this great kit you can turn your snow covered backyard into a canvas for a budding artist. To inspire your child this kit comes with large holiday themed molds that can then be colored in. Combine the snow-crayons with the snowman kit and who knows where your imagination can lead. Additional colors and snow molds are available.
Snowplow
– by Bruder Toys
If it’s tractors your child loves in the summer, then they’ll flip for a snowplow in winter. My son loves to play outside with his first thing in the morning. He enjoys making patterns or “roads” in the snow so his other vehicles can go outside. The large size on this snow plow make it so he can still play with it while wearing thick gloves. Deffinitely a bonus!

OMG…the Snoopy Sno Cone Machine! I can vaguely remember that from my childhood…although we never used it outside in the snow..it was more like mom mashing up some ice cubes. Thanks for the reminder!
